FEATURED STORY

Susan from California

A little bit about myself and how my daughter insisted I try your product. My mother passed away a little over 2 years ago, basically from complications of obesity. I am 57 and am built like her. Over the years my weight has been steadily going up to a high of 189 lbs. Last December my husband signed me up for 1 year of personal training at our local gym without my knowledge. He never told me I was fat or needed to lose weight. All he said was that he didn't want me to get like my mother. I had never exercised before other than occasionally walking the neighborhood or going to a water aerobics class so I was quite apprehensive about lifting weights and strength training. I also thought that since he spent so much money on the training then I should make an effort to eat better too so I signed up for Weight Watchers online the same day.

Part of the training requirement is that you do 30 minutes of cardio on your own so I started walking and then running on the treadmill. In the year I have lost almost 60 lbs, can now run 8 miles and am halfway through training for my first 1/2 marathon! My trainer encourages me to eat more protein so I will not lose muscle. I have a hard time eating too much protein and the protein bars with 20g make me feel uncomfortably full. My daughter, who moved to Nashville last year to work for the Nashville Predators, is thin, fit and eats healthy. She tried one of your Grab The Gold™ bars and started raving about them to me. I was visiting her a couple of weekends ago and we went to Athlete's House running store where she saw the Grab The Gold™ bars by the counter. She made me open one up and taste it right in the store. Needless to say I loved them too and bought a few. Only 1 made it home to CA which is why I ordered a box from you online. I am sure I will continue to be a repeat customer.

I do have a question for you though. I was told to look for products that are high in protein but low in sugar. I normally eat Power Crunch bars which have 14g of protein and 5g of sugar. I like them a lot but I don't think they provide the right ingredients for energy, especially when I do longer runs. I tried Think Thin protein bars which have 0 sugar but I do not like the taste and they have too much protein for me. Is the sugar content in the Grab The Gold™ bars at 12g for nutritional value or mainly for taste?

I'm looking forward to receiving my order and sharing them with my fellow runners. Perhaps my local running store will want to carry them. Wishing you continued success.

Danielle's response:
I am so proud of you and how you completely changed your life!! Congratulations! I am sure others will be inspired by your story. I know I am!

The 12 grams of sugar is for taste. I believe a little sugar in your life is okay. After all, life should be sweet, right? ;) If something doesn't taste good, no one will want to eat it.

My endocrinologist (for diabetes/hormones) said the sugar content of Grab The Gold™ was fine because of the whole grains and fiber content. It slows the absorption of the sugar and creates an even energy boost.

Thank you for making Grab The Gold™ a part of your journey of a healthy lifestyle, Susan!
